Áine graduated with a Masters in Speech and Language Therapy from the University of Limerick in 2013. Prior to this she obtained a BA (Hons) Degree in Social Care. Áine has recently returned from London where she worked as a SeniorSpeech and Language Therapist in a severe to profound special needs school for children aged between 3-19 years.
She is a passionate and hardworking Speech and Language Therapist who specialises in the diagnosis and intervention (i.e. therapy and training others) of children & adolescents with Autism/Asperger Syndrome, Down's Syndrome, profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), Global Developmental Delay and complex medical/behavioural/sensory difficulties. She is Dysphagia trained and has additional training in PECS, Lámh, Attention Autism, Intensive Interaction, Elklan, and Assistive Technology (AAC). Áine is registered with CORU (Government Health Regulatory Body regulating SLTs working in Ireland) and is a member of the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT – voluntary association for SLTs in Ireland).
Above all, Áine believes that therapy should be fun, motivating and functional, in order to achieve the best outcomes for the client and their families.
